Currently, we are seeking a Machine operative to oversee daily operations within the yard. This role includes ensuring efficient workflows, safe material handling, proper equipment maintenance, and coordinating yard staff. Our company is rapidly expanding and operates across multiple sectors, including construction. This position provides exposure to a diverse range of projects and business activities, making it a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow with our evolving organisation.
The nature of our work requires longer hours to be worked between March and October.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery in accordance with training and safety guidelines
- Set up machines for production runs and make basic adjustments as required
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production
- Identify and report faults, defects, or maintenance issues promptly
- Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues when required
Desirable experience in any of the following but not essential:
- Tractor and trailer operation
- Heavy plant machinery-360, dumper, telehandler
- Understanding of land drainage
- Class 1 license
- Understanding of general machinery maintenance
- Civils – Kerb laying, manhole installation, fencing and drainage
- Teamwork
- Eye for detail
