Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance team with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end reporting. This role requires strong organisational skills, numerical accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
· Process purchase and sales invoices and maintain accurate accounting records of group companies.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
· Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
· Support payroll processing by preparing payroll data, maintaining employee records, and assisting with payroll administration.
· Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
· Prepare payment runs and monitor outstanding invoices and credit control activities.
· Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
· Maintain and update accounting systems and financial documentation.
· Support internal and external audits by providing required financial records.
· Assist with procurement and administrative support to other departments as required.
Requirements
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
· Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role is preferred.
· Knowledge of payroll processes and VAT regulations is desirable.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software QuickBooks.
· Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
· Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
· Good organizational and time management abilities.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
