We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Technician to join our Building Pathology team at Initivo. This is an entry-level role designed for someone who wants to start or grow their career in the construction industry. You’ll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and real project experience, from operating access equipment and sampling materials to analysing data and supporting technical reporting.
Duties
Help manage and maintain technical equipment, tools, and materials
Assist with planning rotas, resources, and survey preparations
Support on-site investigations, including access plant operation, coring, and data gathering
Prepare and organise samples for laboratory testing
Contribute to technical reports and data presentation
Follow health, safety, and environmental standards
Work closely with consultants, senior staff, and project teams
Person Specification
Interest in construction, engineering, or building investigations (formal qualifications helpful but not essential)
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Clear communication skills
Comfortable using basic tools and equipment (training provided)
Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work in a team
Flexibility to work on-site, in the office, and occasionally outside regular hours
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (preferred but not essential)
