We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and adaptable Activity Worker to join our team.
Activity Worker - 35 hours per week (M-F) - Permanent - £24,791
This is a unique and rewarding role that offers variety, challenge and the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day. Working across a range of departments and services, you will support adults with learning disabilities and additional needs to develop confidence, independence, wellbeing, life skills and community connections through meaningful activities and learning opportunities.
No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting a learner with practical life skills, the next assisting with creative activities, vocational programmes, community engagement projects or wellbeing sessions. You'll play a key role in helping individuals achieve their personal goals whilst ensuring high-quality support and activity delivery across the organisation.
Core duties:
- Deliver engaging, person-centred activities tailored to individual needs, interests and aspirations.
- Support adults with learning disabilities to develop confidence, social skills, independence and life skills.
- Encourage participation, progression and community involvement.
- Work flexibly across different CASE departments and activities to provide operational support where needed.
- Adapt activities and communication methods to meet varying support needs and abilities.
- Promote positive wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and independence.
- Maintain accurate records relating to attendance, engagement, progress and outcomes.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and risk management procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, carers and external professionals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and the ongoing development of activities and services.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or additional support needs.
- A person-centred approach and passion for helping people achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate, encourage and engage individuals in activities and learning opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work across different departments, activities and community settings.
Desirable
- Experience within education, training, adult learning or vocational learning environments.
- A qualification in Health & Social Care, Education, Learning Support, Youth Work or a related field.
- Experience planning and delivering structured activities or learning sessions.
- Knowledge of autism and associated support needs.
- Experience supporting community-based activities and educational visits.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A MIDAS qualification or willingness to undertake MIDAS training.
