The University of Chester is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Hockey Women’s Club Coach to lead and develop our women’s hockey club. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified coach to make a positive impact on student sport, helping players of all abilities develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game.
As part of our Sport & Active Lifestyle team, you will work closely with club captains, committee members and the Sport Development Team to deliver engaging, inclusive coaching sessions and support the continued growth and success of the club.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering structured and inclusive coaching sessions for club members of varying abilities.
Supporting the development and progression of players throughout the season.
Working collaboratively with club captains and committee members.
Acting as a positive role model and maintaining high professional standards.
Following the sportCHESTER Coaches’ Code of Conduct and University safeguarding requirements.
Maintaining regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Essential
A minimum Foundation/Level 1 coaching qualification in Hockey.
A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
Knowledge of hockey coaching and player development.
Experience of working with young adults.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong motivational and leadership abilities.
The ability to plan and deliver effective coaching sessions.
The ability to work independently when required.
Desirable
First Aid qualification.
Experience of playing or competing in hockey at club level or above.
