Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repair
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on forklifts (diesel, LPG, and electric models).
- Conduct repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and lifting mechanisms.
- Replace or refurbish faulty components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, and bearings.
- Servicing & Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspect and adjust engine components, drive chains, belts, and hoses.
- Lubricate moving parts and check fluid levels (engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant).
- Parts & Components
- Identify and source replacement parts and assemblies.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of OEM and aftermarket forklift components.
- Keep records of parts used and work completed.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and legal requirements.
- Complete maintenance logs and safety inspection reports.
- Advise customers or supervisors of any safety-critical issues.
- Customer Interaction
- Provide clear explanations of faults and repairs to customers or management.
- Occasionally train operators on basic forklift care to reduce avoidable wear.
