Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping/Laundry Assistant to join our team. This role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents and staff. The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional service. Experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or hospital settings is preferable however training will be given.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties across various areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal spaces, and laundry facilities
- Operate laundry equipment efficiently to wash, dry, fold, and organise linen and clothing items
- Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces, floors, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to meet health and safety standards
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
- Follow infection control protocols diligently, especially in hospital environments
- Assist with organising laundry schedules to optimise workflow and minimise delays
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous
- Experience working within care home settings is a plus
- Familiarity with laundry procedures and equipment operation is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and hygiene standards
