Overview
We are seeking a butcher and shop assistant to join our small team at T Buttling Butchers, a high-quality fourth generation family butchers with a first class reputation in the local area.
We are looking for someone professional and friendly, with great interpersonal and customer facing skills and a passion for good food. The ideal applicant will have previous experience as a butcher. However, the role would also suit someone with chef, cooking and/or food preparation experience to assist in the preparation of our range of homemade products - which include award winning sausages, pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs.
We are located in a rural area and deliver our products to a network of local shops and businesses, so a full UK driving licence will be essential.
As part of a small, family run business, the successful applicant will be expected to assist with a variety of tasks. Flexibility, a can do attitude and an eagerness to learn are must have traits. We would encourage creativity, and suggestions of new products to add to our range.
Ultimately, our reputation is at the heart of our business. Having served the local community for more than 50 years, we are looking for someone friendly who shares our values and who will continue to provide our customers with a high-quality service and first-class produce.
Requirements
We want someone with:
- Previous culinary experience in butchery or food production (preferred),
- A passion for delivering high-quality products and a first-class service,
- A full UK driving licence (essential),
- Knowledge of relevant food safety procedures and hygiene standards,
- The ability to adapt and work well as part of our team,
- Good communication skills, who can build a rapport with our customers and suppliers,
- Flexibility. The shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays but open on Saturday mornings. We will operate a rota system that allows you to take one Saturday off per month.
