About the Role
We are a friendly, traditional high street law firm with a strong reputation for providing professional, approachable, and client-focused legal services to our local community.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our office.
This is a varied and rewarding role that requires excellent communication, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy legal environment.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the firm's compliance requirements, ensuring that policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations are maintained,
reviewed, and kept up to date. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the continued success and smooth operation of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the office.
- Oversee and maintain the firm's compliance processes, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure compliance procedures and policies are up to date and implemented across the business.
- Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Review and update office policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors where required.
- Manage the reception function and organise staff rotas to ensure adequate cover at all times.
- Provide administrative support to management and staff.
- Coordinate office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Maintain filing systems and company records.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Assist with HR administration, including onboarding new employees and maintaining personnel records.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Office Manager or senior administrative role.
- Experience of working in a law firm is advantageous but not essential
- Experience managing compliance within a regulated business would be an advantage.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise competing tasks.
- A professional, positive, and approachable attitude.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.
