Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and plate meals efficiently while maintaining consistency and presentation quality
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed at all times
- Assist with mise en place, including chopping, marinating, and organising ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring timely food delivery
- Follow instructions from head chefs and kitchen managers to meet quality expectations
- Contribute to stock control by notifying management of inventory levels and expiry dates
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques across various cuisines is desirable
- Previous experience working in a busy kitchen setting is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new culinary skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and evenings if necessary
