Job Description
Purpose of the position
As a Continuous Improvement Lead for one of the largest programmes at Marshall Land Systems you will be responsible for identifying and working with the programme organisation and production team to deliver improvement opportunities against that programme. You will be proficient in mapping processes in a production environment whilst ensuring you capture programme needs. You will drive improvements that deliver efficiency and cost saving targets to support the programme budget to be delivered or exceeded.
Accountability
You will be accountable for embedding new practices in a production programme setting, alongside an ongoing culture of improvement.
Responsibilities:

Analysing production processes and procedures against the assigned programme

Developing enhancement strategies and identify shortfalls in the programme.

Monitoring employee performance vs process and organisational processes.

Collaborating with other stakeholders, and in particular the production CI lead, to enhance productivity and efficiency in the programme..

Communicating the need for process change and supporting the change process

Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in new processes.

Staying up-to-date with developments in manufacturing process optimisation.
Tasks:

Delivery of improvement projects to achieve production targets/ cost savings and KPIs against the programme,

The elimination of waste, in pursuit of tangible customer value

Identification, planning and implementation of initiatives that improve efficiency and utilisation

Support the product industrialisation and design-for-manufacture

To drive standardisation of approach across the programme, aligned with the wider business, supporting an environment that encourages the sharing of best practice

Technical Competencies:

Experience of lean tools and techniques
Education:
-
Hold a relevant degree in Manufacturing, Engineering (or equivalent), or experience to an equivalent depth
Experience:
-
Knowledge of LEAN and process improvement tools and techniques (Experience with Value Stream Management tools, Kaizen methods and other key Lean tools and methodologies is advantageous)

Process orientated, with a track record of implementing process improvements and controls
-
Experience in a manufacturing/ production environment (as a continuous improvement lead)

Experience of modern manufacturing practices, processes and organisational design.

Experience in delivering multiple efficiency programmes driving millions in efficiency savings
Additional local needs
-
Needs to be South Wales production facility as a minimum 4 days a week
