First Adventures Nursery is looking for a qualified practitioner with either an HNC or SVQ3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development to join our team in a permanent full-time role. The successful candidate will be working with children between the ages of 0-5 years. This is a flexible position where you will not be based in one area, but covering throughout the nursery. This position is an excellent way to gain experience with all age groups of children.
Our nursery has been at the heart of Linlithgow for the past 29 years, operating from one of the High Street’s most noticeable historic buildings and its extensive gardens.
Role Description:
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and has a genuine love for working with young children. Knowledge of Realising the Ambition and the Curriculum for Excellence would be advantageous. This role would suit someone who would like to gain experience of working with all age groups of children.
Specific duties will be discussed at interview, but all practitioners at our centre, are expected to:
- Ensure all children are safe and protected at all times.
- Provide a high standard of care and support with an emphasis of the GIRFEC principles and values allowing the child to develop as fully as possible across each of the well-being indicators.
- Give support to other team members throughout the nursery: helping to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
- Work as part of a team to foster an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn, and develop, helping them to reach their full potential.
- Work with your team to deliver a stimulating daily programme which meets the needs of the children under your care, helps them to explore their interests and offers support and challenge.
- Work in partnership with families to build and maintain strong relationships between home and nursery.
This role involves 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm, with the specific work schedule to be confirmed.
The candidate must be prepared to register with the SSSC if not already a member. Successful candidates will also be expected to join the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
