Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for house clearances, transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of our vital charity shop fundraising. A valid driving licence and previous delivery driver experience are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes
- Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are maintained
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies at all times
Requirements
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record (24years old and above)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns within the area
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to lift heavy items safely when required
