The Role
As a Support Worker, you will:

Support young people aged 16–17 to develop independence skills
- Promote safety, wellbeing, and positive routines
- Provide emotional and practical support
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times
- Record daily logs, incidents, and support plans
- Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, and external agencies
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately
- Help maintain a safe, clean, welcoming accommodation environment
This role requires consistency, compassion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to young people’s welfare.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
-
Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals
- Strong safeguarding awareness
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships
- Good communication and recording skills
- Reliable, consistent, and emotionally resilient
- Willingness to work shifts
- Enhanced DBS (children’s workforce) – or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
-
Experience working with looked after children
- NVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care)
- Knowledge of Supported Accommodation Regulations (2023)
- First Aid, safeguarding, or de‑escalation training
