As a Senior Product Manager, Simplification you’ll play a leading role in the tailoring of existing propositions across the Virgin Money estate, readying our core customer base for a simple and seamless migration to Nationwide. You’ll have the opportunity to work across Transactional Banking, Savings and Lending, refining propositions for customers ranging from Sole Traders to Large Corporates.
The Senior Product Manager(s) will play a pivotal role in the successful transition of Virgin Money customers to the Nationwide brand. This a once-in-a-career opportunity to play a part in the creation of a scaled full-service mutual business bank that can compete with digital challengers on speed and simplicity, while outperforming traditional banks on trust, fairness, relationship depth and breadth of capability.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Simplification, the role holder will play a leading part in the delivery of a simplification roadmap, encompassing proposition refinement, customer engagement and change delivery. The role holder will ultimately support the enablement and readiness of both existing Virgin Money and Nationwide business customers, for their simple and seamless transition to the newly built Business Bank.
You will have the opportunity to support the shaping of product and proposition change, complex sequencing of communications across the whole Business Bank product suite and the ultimate migration of >300k customers holding products from simple savings accounts through to having complex multi-product arrangements.

As a Senior Product Manager within Business Products, you’ll take a leading role in the development and ultimate delivery of complex plans to simplify the existing Virgin Money and Nationwide business product suites.
This may range from leading propositional changes or sunsetting existing portfolios through to developing customer communication strategies or supporting customer Relationship Managers in the delivery of customer change.
Working closely with colleagues across Technology, Finance, Business Control, Data and Coverage, you’ll play an integral role in the safe migration of existing customers, through considered plans that, for many, support a best-in-class first experience of the Nationwide brand.
You will have:
- Experience working as a senior product manager, product manager, product owner, or in a similar role managing products and delivering change
- A clear understanding of product and proposition development across the full product lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to put customers at the heart of decision-making, using insight to shape products and journeys
- Experience of product performance management, including the use of key performance metrics to identify customer behaviours and trends
- Exceptional understanding of the UK banking market, business banking specific experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, including Consumer Duty and its impact on product design and delivery
- Experience leading or contributing to change initiatives within a complex organisation
- Proven commercial acumen, including experience managing customer value, income engagement and retention in a regulated banking environment
- Growing balances, fee income, customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention and market share in a regulated banking environment.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, with the ability to align Product, Digital, Technology, Operations, Coverage, Risk, Finance and Transformation around shared customer and commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence representing Business Products internally and adapting complex messages for senior, technical and customer-facing audience
