Duties
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of stimulating activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs
- Support residents in participating in recreational programs, fostering social connections and enhancing quality of life
- Adapt activities to accommodate residents with dementia or Alzheimer's care requirements, ensuring safety and engagement
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual preferences and develop personalized activity plans
- Maintain accurate records of activities provided, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve programs
- Encourage residents’ independence and self-expression through creative and therapeutic activities
- Promote a positive, lively atmosphere that encourages resident interaction and enjoyment
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer's disease best practices is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate engaging activities for older adults with diverse needs
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for caregiving and enhancing residents’ quality of life
- Ability to adapt activities for residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities
- Relevant certifications in caregiving or activity coordination are a plus but not mandatory
