Overview
Kemps Windows & Doors is looking for an experienced timber finisher to lead the day-to-day running of our sanding and finishing area.
This is a hands-on role. You will be working alongside the team, helping maintain pace, quality and consistency across timber preparation and spray finishing.
Strong experience in timber sanding and preparation is essential. Spray-finishing experience would be useful, but is not essential as training can be provided. We are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to spraying only.
The role includes:
- Sanding and preparing timber windows and doors to a high standard
- Leading and supporting junior team members
- Keeping work moving at an agreed pace
- Checking quality throughout the finishing process
- Helping oversee spray finishing and final finish standards
- Working closely with the wider workshop team to maintain production flow
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong practical experience in timber sanding and preparation
- Has a good eye for finish and detail
- Can work efficiently without compromising quality
- Is comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day work of others
- Is reliable, organised and able to work without constant supervision
- Is willing to learn our spray-finishing process if required
- Takes ownership of the finishing area and looks for practical ways to improve methods, tooling, quality and efficiency where this benefits Kemps
Pay: £16.50-£18.00 per hour
