We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Rug Tufting tutor to join the college at the heart of our community in Southend.

We are a growing college with an exciting future supporting the City of Southend, Rochford and Castle Point.
We are recruiting for a Rug Tufting tutor to take part in our community learning and night school provision teaching small groups of adults with mixed experience and abilities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated tutor to:
Plan and deliver rug tufting sessions that meet the needs of learners with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Demonstrate the safe and effective use of tufting equipment, including tufting guns, frames, yarns, adhesives, and finishing tools.
Teach learners the principles of rug design, colour selection, pattern creation, and textile techniques.
Adapt teaching methods to support individual learning needs, including learners with SEND and those new to creative arts.
Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage skill development and achievement.
Promote creativity, experimentation, and confidence in learners.
Classes will run Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings , and there will be some opportunities for you to carry out Saturday morning workshops should you wish to.
Evening class schedule can be discussed at interview and arranged to work around your current commitments.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, patient and has a professional attitude. If you do not have a teaching qualification but you are eager to start a teaching career path, we can also provide the Level 3 teaching qualification.
Requirements
- Practical experience in rug tufting and textile arts.
- Ability to teach and demonstrate creative skills effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience working within adult education or community learning settings.
- Experience supporting adults, beginners, or learners with additional needs.
