Overview
GEMCO are the UK’s largest garage equipment service company, providing repair, maintenance, installation and sales solutions to a range of fast fit centres, dealerships, independent garages and commercial fleet operators.
We are seeking a new colleague who will be an important part of our Purchasing and Warehouse department. The role will be to support the business by accurately picking and packing orders and safely operating a forklift truck to move, load, and store equipment in accordance with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
Key responsibilities
- To receive and process warehouse stock products i.e. unload, label and store and reporting any discrepancies for immediate action
- To receive and process special orders for immediate despatch, reporting any discrepancies for immediate action
- Prepare and complete orders for despatch or collection according to schedule i.e. pick, pack and despatch
- Forklift activities including loading and unloading of lorries, containers and safely storing item on racking and within holding areas.
- To perform inventory controls and stock checks where applicable
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience of working in a warehouse environment
- Proficiency in inventory controls, software, database and systems
- IT literacy including Microsoft Office knowledge including Excel would be preferred
- Forklift driving licence – Counterbalance and Reach
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Identify and execute opportunities for continuous improvement
- Excellent levels of communication at all levels
- Works well in a team environment
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Driving licence to travel between sites when required

- Basic salary of £25,000
- Periodic optional overtime which can increase earnings by £750 - £2,000
