Job: Service Co-ordinator
Contract: Permanent
Based: Strood, Kent
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 5.30pm plus 1 Saturday morning per month (with the flexibility to work more if required)
Salary: £31,000 - £33,000
Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks and light commercial vehicles and vans in the South-East.
Are you organised, customer-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Vehicle Service Co-ordinator to join our busy Service Department in Strood.
As a key member of the team, you'll act as the link between our customers and workshop, helping to ensure a smooth and professional service experience.
Key Responsibilities

Handle customer enquiries by telephone and in person.

Book commercial vehicle services, repairs, and inspections.

Create and update job records and workshop schedules.

Liaise with Workshop Control regarding vehicle progress.

Keep customers informed throughout the repair and service process.

Rebook recalls and missed appointments.

Authorise breakdowns where applicable.

Maintain customer accounts and departmental records.

Complete general administrative duties and required training.
What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a commercial vehicle, fleet, transport, or automotive environment.

Knowledge of vehicle terminology.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Previous administration experience.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.

Confidence dealing with customers and colleagues at all levels.

A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable

Experience using Kerridge (training can be provided).

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
