We are seeking a dedicated and personable Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their pharmacy needs
- Dispense over-the-counter medications and support prescription processing under supervision
- Provide information on medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and medication stock levels
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management
- Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Assist patients with basic enquiries related to medication administration and general health advice within scope of practice
- Support patient care initiatives by providing empathetic assistance and ensuring confidentiality at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Experience working directly with patients or customers in a healthcare setting is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
