Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Kitchen Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing kitchen units, and fixtures. Second fix carpentry. The position requires a reliable professional with a strong background in carpentry and related trades, capable of working independently or as part of a team to deliver quality results.
Responsibilities
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools to create customised fittings.
- Installing kitchen units, cabinets, worktops, and associated fixtures with precision and attention to detail.
- Fabricating bespoke components as required for specific projects or client specifications.
- Performing joinery tasks including fitting doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, and other wooden features.
- Conducting repairs or modifications to existing structures as needed.
- Assisting with roofing tasks where necessary, including the installation of roof trusses or tiles.
- Carrying out construction painting, masonry work, plumbing, electrical tasks or other trades if qualified or required for project completion.
- Heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow on-site.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members to ensure project specifications are met within deadlines.
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, fabrication, assembly, and installation work.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, as well as power tools including drills, saws, sanders.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials is desirable.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely while maintaining quality standards.
- Experience with construction painting, masonry work, plumbing or electrical systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
