We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our small team in assisting with running a new Mexican restaurant on Totnes high street! We are opening the space to offer delicious authentic Mexican flavours alongside a great drink offering including a range of tequilas and mezcals!
We’re looking for someone friendly, energetic, and a love of Mexican food is a must! An interest in speciality coffee, Mezcal, Tequilas and cocktails would be amazing but full training will be provided. This role would be perfect for someone who wants to immerse themselves in a different cuisine whilst working alongside a great team.
The restaurant will be run by Carlos and Emily. Carlos, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico will be heading up the kitchen and Emily will be leading the front of house team.
The shifts will be a real mix as we will be opening for a brunch, lunch and an evening menu. We will also be hosting events with Mezcal and tequila tastings.
Hours will be spread over a week from Wednesday – Monday with a mix of day times, evenings and split shifts.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing outstanding customer service at all times – this is the most important thing to us!
- Managing shifts
- Manage and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Support administrative functions including inventory control, reporting, and record-keeping with strong organizational skills
- Preparing and serving high-quality coffee, cocktails and other beverages
- Operating the till and handling transactions accurately
- Managing and ordering stock
- Maintaining excellent product knowledge
- Replenishing stock and merchandising displays
- Keeping the shop floor and coffee area clean and well-presented
- Following food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keeping on top of team training
About You
- Previous assistant management experience essential
- Barista experience preferred but full training will be given
- Cocktail experience preferred but full training will be given
- Confident, friendly, and professional manner
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexible to work weekends and busy periods
