Gardening & Grounds Maintenance Team Leader Required
Evergreen Contract Gardeners, deliver grounds maintenance and contract gardening services in and around the South for large Private Estates, Housing Associations, Care Homes, Local authorities, Managing Agents, Open spaces, Schools and large residential properties. We work from our base in Horsham. We’re looking for an experienced Gardener/Ground maintenance operative who can build excellent working relationships with our clients, they will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work using their own initiative at client sites around these areas.
Applicants also must have a full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
General gardening and grounds maintenance tasks including:
- Grass cutting with ride-on and pedestrian mowers
- Edging, tidying, mulching, lawncare, plant care.
- Shrub, border maintenance, weed control.
- Hedge cutting, reduction and rejuvenation.
- Leaf and litter collection
- Shrub and plant maintenance.
- Weed and moss treatment.
- To work cleanly and efficiently ensuring that the service is delivered in the most effective way
- You will need be a team player who ensures that all our customers properties and communal areas are left tidy and in a safe condition.
- It is essential that you hold a UK drivers’ licence
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent.
- Experience in site maintenance or groundskeeping roles will be beneficial.
- Familiarity and proficiency with the use of hand tools and power tools for gardening and grounds maintenance is essential.
- Ride-on mowing experience.
- PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates
- Good Plant knowledge.
- To have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the service.
- Minimum of one years’ experience within the horticultural industry
- In this hands-on role, being flexible and having a 'can do' attitude is essential.

Salary: £28089.00 - £29393.00 per year

- Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Employment is subject to a 3-month probationary period

November to March - 7.30pm to 4.30pm
