Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated vehicle prepper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring commercial vehicle bodywork to its original condition. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both hand and power tools. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality workmanship.
Duties
- Assess damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repairs required.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to remove dents, scratches, and other imperfections from vehicle panels.
- Weld and assemble components as needed to restore structural integrity.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand repair processes and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace while ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair progress and options.
- Perform equipment repair and maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Experience with heavy lifting and handling of automotive parts.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
