Job Overview
Due to further expansion; we are seeking skilled Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate(s) will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Heavy Goods vehicles, trailers, vans and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle safety and systems and the ability to work efficiently under pressure and at times autonomously.
The shift pattern is to be 4 on, 4 off. Start time 6.30am working until 6pm.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in the workshop.
- Sourcing parts when required.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and enhance service quality.
- Ensure paperwork is completed in a timely manner and logged onto the computer systems.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet industry standards.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; relevant qualifications will be considered an asset.
- Driving Licence, with own car. HGV Class 1/2 is desirable.
