We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our dedicated catering team at Frances Bolitho Care Home in Penzance, a welcoming 45-bed residential care home where our residents are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Catering Assistant, you will be helping to serve more than just meals, you'll support our Catering Supervisor and wider team in providing nutritious, delicious and well-presented meals for our residents, while helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.Food is an important part of life at Frances Bolitho. You'll play a valuable role in helping our residents enjoy mealtimes, whether that's preparing and serving meals, keeping the dining areas clean and welcoming, or taking the time to offer a friendly smile and a few kind words.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team and understands the importance of providing a high standard of service. Previous catering experience is welcomed, but what matters most is your positive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine desire to make a difference.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day smooth operation of the kitchen

Understand and cater to special dietary needs, ensuring presentation and nutritional standards are met

Support the kitchen team in preparing cooking and plating high-quality meals

Clean kitchen areas and equipment according to work schedules

Assist with meal service in the dining areas

Tidy up and wash dishes, utensils, and surfaces after meals

Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety procedures at all times

Ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming kitchen and food service environment

Pay Scale:
(Subject to qualification and experience)
- £13:00 - £13:33 per hour
- Weekend enhancements
