Position: Female Personal Support Assistant
Calling all creative and flexible job-seeking individuals looking for a balanced blend of financial security and personal freedom! We have an exciting opportunity to join our team where you will benefit from a full-time salary in a fulfilling role, while enjoying a significant amount of time off to pursue your own passions.
Laura, a power chair user with a complex physical disability, is looking to recruit female Personal Support Assistants (PSAs) to offer support in all areas of her life. As a Cambridge graduate currently undertaking a law conversion course with the ambition of becoming a barrister, Laura leads a dynamic and busy life. She actively participates in charity work, community groups, volunteer initiatives, disability sports, and gardening. Laura doesn’t have a routine life, nor does she want one! She deeply values the freedom to shape her own journey, and she requires reliable, flexible individuals who can support her to a high standard.
Joining a select team, you will work directly with Laura to provide 24-hour support in order that she can live the life she chooses. This includes, but is not limited to: assisting with personal care and domestic tasks, helping to facilitate home, social and work lives, support with exercise/sporting events and national/international travel. This is a rewarding and varied position where strong communications skills are vital. You must be able to cycle, whereas driving, while desirable, is not essential.
This is a full-time, salaried position. PSAs are required to work varying types of shifts in order to provide comprehensive cover on a predictable rolling rota. On an average four weeks you would work 4-5 days over 2 shifts, assisting during the day and night. You would also be available to work, if required, for a further 8-10 days, of which you would expect to actively work 1-3 days. You also have an incredible 14 days off. Please see application pack for further details on the shift structure and pattern.
This role promises to be unlike most traditional care work positions and we encourage applications from individuals without prior PSA/care experience. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills for success. The position is based in Cambridge and we welcome applicants within a 3-hour travel radius.
