Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Compressor Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing industrial compressors and related equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and supervise maintenance activities. The successful applicant will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining safety standards across all tasks.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various compressor systems and associated machinery.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Programme and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise compressor performance.
- Conduct welding and mechanical repairs as needed to restore equipment functionality.
- Interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Lead maintenance teams during service operations, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Supervise junior technicians or apprentices during maintenance projects, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts used, and diagnostics performed for each job.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, welding, and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC programming.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience within a technical or maintenance environment is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering are advantageous.
- A proactive approach to safety procedures and quality standards is essential for success in this role.
