To support the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of individuals in care by providing compassionate assistance with daily living activities, promoting independence, and contributing to a positive, person-centred environment. To support resident during the hydrotherapy sessions 3 days per week and to support Ullswater Cottage with wellness lead activities the remaining 2 days.
37.5 hours per week 30 minutes unpaid break (to include evening and weekends).
Care and Support within Ullswater and Hydrotherapy sessions:
- Supporting the minibus drivers in the moving and handling of residents, supporting residents with showering following the pool session and provide personal care for residents not in the pool.
- Assist individuals with personal care tasks including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility where required at the hydrotherapy pool and with the home.
- Support residents with daily routines while encouraging independence and dignity.
- Monitor and report changes in residents physical or emotional wellbeing to senior staff.
Wellness and Engagement
- Promote overall wellbeing through meaningful activities, social interaction, and engagement. Increasing variety, including group and one-to-one sessions
- Developing digital activities such as:
- Virtual experiences and tours
- Interactive games and quizzes
- Facilitated video communication with families
- Utilisation of wellbeing software and technology, such as Ayla and magic tables
- Ensuring activities are inclusive, personalised, and meaningful
- Targeting key times of day where engagement is currently limited
- Creating person-led records of wellbeing interventions
- Support planned wellbeing programmes such as exercise sessions, arts and crafts, music, or reminiscence activities
- Encourage participation in activities that enhance mental, emotional, and physical health.
Health and Safety
- Follow all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for individuals.
- Assist with moving and handling in line with training and policies.
Communication
- Build positive relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate effectively, showing empathy, patience, and respect.
- Maintain accurate records of care and wellbeing activities as required.
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with the wider care team to deliver high-quality care.
