Join an Award-Winning Organisation That Changes Lives
Are you an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager looking for the opportunity to truly make a difference?
At Include In Autism, we don't just provide care – we transform lives. As an award-winning organisation specialising in supporting autistic children and young people with learning disabilities and behaviours of concern, we're proud of the exceptional outcomes we achieve.
We're looking for an inspirational Registered Manager to lead our specialist children's home in Sunderland. Our home is intentionally small, supporting a maximum of two children or young people, allowing for truly personalised care, meaningful relationships and outstanding outcomes.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a home where quality comes before quantity, where every decision is centred around the child, and where you'll have the autonomy to build an exceptional team and create a home where children can thrive.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, quality and day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring it consistently delivers outstanding care and remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations.
You will lead a passionate and skilled team who share our values and commitment to providing trauma-informed, autism-informed and person-centred support that enables children to feel safe, valued and understood.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, compassionate leadership and create a positive culture where children and staff can flourish.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Develop a nurturing environment where children feel safe, respected, and able to achieve their full potential.
- Lead, inspire and develop a highly skilled staff team through effective recruitment, supervision, mentoring and performance management.
- Promote therapeutic, trauma-informed, and Positive Behaviour Support approaches that reduce restrictive practices and improve quality of life.
- Work collaboratively with families, education providers, social workers and other professionals to achieve the very best outcomes for each child.
- Maintain exceptional safeguarding standards and ensure children's welfare is always the highest priority.
- Oversee care planning, risk management, quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement.
- Manage staffing, budgets, and resources effectively while maintaining high-quality care.
- Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections with confidence.
About You
We're looking for someone who leads with compassion, integrity and ambition.
You'll be someone who genuinely believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and who has the experience and resilience to lead a specialist service supporting children with complex needs.
You will have:
- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager, or be an experienced Deputy Manager ready to register.
- A thorough understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience supporting children with autism, learning disabilities, behaviours of concern and complex needs.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it).
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
- A passion for achieving outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
- A full UK driving licence.
