An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at Pound Wholesale in Blackburn. We are seeking motivated Warehouse Operatives to support the smooth running of our busy distribution centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack and prepare orders accurately and efficiently for courier and haulier dispatch
- Receive and put away stock, maximising warehouse space
- Carry out stock checks and investigations to maintain accurate inventory records
- Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring all orders are checked and ready on time
- Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently
- Operate pallet trucks, forklifts, or other MHE (if licensed)
- Label and re-label products to ensure correct identification
- Quality check goods before storage or dispatch
- Assist with returns processing and re-stocking items
- Support stock rotation to minimise waste and ensure FIFO (first-in, first-out)
- Report damages, discrepancies, or shortages to supervisors
- Maintain health & safety standards and follow company procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training of new staff
- General housekeeping and hygiene duties to keep the warehouse safe and organised
Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse or order-picking experience desirable
- Confidence using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld scanners
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, flexible, and positive “can-do” attitude
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Good communication skills to support team collaboration
- Forklift (Counterbalance) and Reach Truck licences would be an advantage
- Awareness of health & safety practices in a warehouse environment
- Willingness to take initiative and suggest process improvements
Hours & Pay
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays when required
- Paid at National Minimum Wage + holiday pay included
- Temporary contract with potential to become permanent following a successful probationary period

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
