We have an exciting opportunity for a GPhC registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Education and Training Team.
You will have a key role in shaping the delivery of training programmes within the pharmacy department; providing support to trainees and all staff involved in their supervision.

You will retain your clinical skills by having designated clinical service provision time.
The post holder will be lead the Pharmacy Education & Training Team. They will lead the co-ordination, implementation, development, and delivery of training programmes for all pharmacy trainees.
They will lead the Pharmacy E&T Team and support the wider pharmacy team to develop and support learners and supervisors, and to ensure an effective, inclusive and innovative learning environment and culture.
The post holder will provide dispensary and clinical ward pharmacy services where required.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities.
A new Urgent Emergency Care Centre was opened in March 2023. The two-storey development has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity and has provided almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
The post holder will act as the Lead Pharmacist in all aspects of Education and Training for the Pharmacy Department, including supervision, leadership and management of pharmacy students, foundation training programme, diploma training programme, all technician training programmes and post qualification training programmes.
This will include co-ordination and support for Designated Supervisors (DS) and Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPP) and supervisors for post qualification training programmes. This will include management of associated finances, applications and registration of training sites and development and delivery of the associated training programmes and packages.
The post holder will also be responsible for leading the Education and Training team and other technicians and pharmacists within the department to develop, monitor and oversee delivery of all induction, governance, rotations, step-up programmes and revalidation/ reaccreditation training for all grades of staff.
The post holder will also lead, co-ordinate, develop and deliver relevant medicines training to other clinical staff within the Trust, including medical students, medical staff, nursing staff and others.
The post holder will also be responsible for the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient focussed services and supporting colleagues in its wider delivery across the Trust. The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of pharmacy services throughout the Trust.
The post holder will provides a high level of pharmaceutical support, advice and information to medical, nursing and other healthcare staff providing clinical care.
The post holder will supports pharmacy research and development and contributes to the publication, presentation and dissemination of research and development.
The post holder will contribute to weekend, bank holiday and on-call duties as rota’d.
