Longcliffe is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the East Midlands to join our Commercial Team and play a key role in supporting our continued growth.
With operations centred around our two quarries, Brassington Moor and Ryder Point, Longcliffe produces over 100 products serving a diverse range of vital industries - from animal feeds and agricultural fertilisers to glass and plasterboard manufacturing. In addition, we operate two wind turbines that contribute renewable energy to the national grid.
Our business is guided by two principles: supplying customers with the right materials, exactly when they need them, at the right price - and doing so in a way that respects and protects the environment.
In this role, you’ll play a central part in shaping our future strategy, managing customer accounts, delivering first-class support, and ensuring excellent customer service.
To fulfill the requirements of this exciting new role, you will be able to:
Manage all aspects of the customer relationship within a designated geographic area, which may include key accounts, in order to achieve budgeted volume and revenue.
Act as the key commercial contact for both new and existing customers, providing technical, logistical, and administrative support. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring excellent service delivery. The role also involves representing customers within the business, effectively communicating their requirements and coordinating with internal operational teams to ensure their needs are met.
The successful candidate will support the Commercial Director in developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the Longcliffe businesses, help to maximise profitability and performance of trading accounts, through development of technical & operational relationships within the sector & identification of new business opportunities. Identify technical threats & opportunities and assist with technical initiatives within all market sectors. Assist with investigations of technical issues where necessary. Support medium and long-term customer & market development, promote sales of high value speciality products to market.

The Area Sales Manager will report directly to the Commercial Director
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance with company H&S policy

- Achievement of sales volume and revenue targets
- Implement pricing strategy as determined by the Commercial Director
- Forecasting and budget control
- Negotiate price/volume agreements with key customers.
- Provide interface with other functional departments and customers.
- Provide technical support and advice both internally and externally.
- Ensure strict compliance with Competition Act
- Facilitate Accounts Receivable contact with customers and ensure payment terms are adhered to.
- Identify and secure new opportunities in line with company expectations/ budgets.
- Maintain managed accounts information in Longcliffe CRM system.

Negotiable depending on experience
Working Hours
Full Time 37.5-42.5
