Assessors & Internal Quality Assessors (IQA) – Fire Risk Assessor level 3 and 4, We are seeking experienced Freelance Assessors and Internal Quality Assessors (IQAs) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for delivering and quality-assuring our Level 4 and 3 Fire Risk Assessing qualifications, ensuring all learners meet the highest standards of safety and technical competence. As we expand our fire safety provision, we are looking for dedicated professionals who understand the critical nature of fire stopping, compartmentation, and structural fire protection. These roles offer a mix of remote portfolio management and on-site assessment/audits.
You will support learners through their qualification journey, providing expert guidance and assessing practical competence.
- Key Duties: Deliver training sessions, assess learner evidence via our e-portfolio system, and conduct on-site observations of fire-stopping installations and cavity barrier fittings.
2. Internal Quality Assessor (IQA)
You will maintain the integrity of our assessment process, ensuring all decisions are consistent, valid, and compliant with awarding body and industry standards.
- Key Duties: Conduct sampling of assessment decisions, provide feedback and CPD support to the assessor team, and lead standardisation meetings to ensure audit readiness.
Qualifications Required
- Assessor Role: Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), A1, or D32/33.
- IQA Role: Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA), V1, or D34.
- Technical: A recognised Level 3 Qualification in Passive Fire Protection (e.g., NOCN, ABBE, or IFE).
- Teaching: AET / PTLLS or higher is desirable.
Experience & Skills
- Proven occupational competence in Fire Protection (min. 2–5 years).
- In-depth knowledge of BS 8214, BS 9991/9999, and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Experience using e-portfolio systems (e.g., OneFile, Smart Assessor).
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to learner success and life safety compliance.
