Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues
- Diagnose faults using specialised tools and equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
- Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs
- Test vehicles post-repair to ensure issues have been resolved effectively
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting as required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Assist in ordering parts and managing inventory as needed
- Support team members with technical guidance and training when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role within the automotive industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are preferred but not essential
- A valid driving licence is required to facilitate vehicle movement within the workshop environment
