Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Assistant to support individuals in their daily living within private residence. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised care, ensuring comfort, safety, and well-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with everyday tasks. Role will require the candidate to work every other weekend.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation in accordance with care plans
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
- Follow established care plans to meet individual needs and preferences
- Support emotional well-being through companionship and active listening
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and experience in driving safely and responsibly
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to adapt support accordingly
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to assist others
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
