You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for our member-owners every day’.
In this role, you’ll lead a team of Reconciliation Advisors, making sure our daily bank reconciliations are done accurately and on time. We’ll look to you to resolve complex queries, support the team with processing journals and, at period end, prepare several balance sheet reconciliations.
Why this role matters
By making sure our reconciliations are accurate, controls are robust, and supplier accounts are well-managed, you’ll help protect the financial integrity of our Co-op and enable better decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Lead our team of Reconciliation Advisors and support their needs on a daily basis
- Oversee cash and bank reconciliations, cash collection, cash allocation, and ad-hoc payments
- Delegate daily tasks to the team, making sure work is allocated effectively
- Assist in producing process documents and training team members
- Proactively identify, explore, and act on opportunities to improve our ways of working
- Make sure any issues are resolved and escalated quickly and appropriately
What you’ll bring
We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:
- Proof of working towards an accountancy qualification
- Experience leading teams and delegating work effectively
- Experience using SAP systems
- Knowledge of banking processes including bank and balance sheet reconciliations and journals processing
- Good analytical and Microsoft Excel skills
Why Co-op?
At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:
- An annual incentive scheme (based on business and personal performance)
- 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
- A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
- Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
- Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
- 24/7 colleague support service
- Training and support for your development and career progression
- Cycle-to-work scheme
