About the Home
Our 3-bed therapeutic home provides a safe, nurturing and stable environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. We believe in building strong, trusting relationships and using a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to help every child feel safe, valued and supported.
As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain high standards of care, support the team and continue building on our successful Ofsted outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Leading shifts and providing guidance and support to the residential team.
- Helping to create a positive, therapeutic environment where children can thrive.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Supporting staff through coaching, mentoring and regular supervision.
- Monitoring care plans, risk assessments and daily records to ensure high standards.
- Promoting safeguarding and ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Working in partnership with social workers, families, schools and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every child.
- Stepping up to manage the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
What we're looking for
You'll have:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be willing to work towards it.
- Experience working in a children's residential home.
- Previous experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
- A good understanding of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding legislation.
- A positive, resilient and child-focused approach.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence.

Experience:
- Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
- DBS on the Registered Update Service (required)
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare (preferred)
