Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide high-quality life and social skills support to a young man of 20 with diagnoses of ADHD, ASD and OCD in their own home in the Haslemere area. The client is currently taking a sabbatical from A’ level studies. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring wellbeing, and promoting a comfortable and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the young person’s life to enhance their ability to complete day to day tasks; attending placements and engage with the local community.
Responsibilities:
- Support individual with daily activities, promoting independence and social skillls
- Take individual to placements and appointments
- Help/ supervise meal preparation as required
- Undertake training with professional involved in the clients care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in conditions
- Communicate effectively with family and all professional team members involved with the clients care to ensure personalised care delivery
- Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for all
- Support the organisation of activities that enhance wellbeing and social engagement
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and uphold dignity at all times
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with, or personal experience/ knowledge (Degree level preferrable) of ASD, OCD and ADHD
- Valid driving licence and transportation required
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and updating care plans accurately
- Excellent communication skills, empathetic nature, and a caring attitude
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work days (and early evenings if necessary)
- DBS check required
Pay: £15.00 per hour
