Overview:
The Waiting Staff role at Tales of Tea involves delivering high-quality customer service within a charming dining environment at St Mary’s Guildhall. The position requires welcoming guests and ensuring their experience during breakfast, afternoon tea, and lunch is enjoyable and memorable. The role demands strong attention to detail, excellent hospitality skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for providing outstanding food and service to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Hospitality:
- Greet guests warmly and ensure they have an exceptional dining experience.
- Take orders accurately and provide knowledgeable recommendations on our menu offerings.
- Serve breakfast, afternoon tea, and lunch efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly to any special requests or dietary requirements.
- Handle guest enquiries and resolve any concerns professionally and courteously.
Food & Beverage Service:
- Ensure all food and drink are presented attractively and served to the highest standard.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the menu, including ingredients, allergens, and pairing suggestions.
Teamwork & Operations:
- Assist with setting and clearing tables to maintain a clean and organised dining area.
- Support colleagues during busy service periods, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Help with restocking and ensure service areas remain tidy and well-prepared.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A professional, well-presented appearance with a courteous manner.
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and occasional special events.
Pay: £10.42-£12.71 per hour
