Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Van Driver. This role involves operating commercial vehicles, managing warehouse tasks, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience in delivery driving, and the physical capability to handle heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely drop-offs across designated routes.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as loading and unloading goods, organising stock, and maintaining inventory records.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Perform heavy lifting when required, handling goods with care to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, vehicle logs, and inventory movements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver.
- Valid driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively under tight schedules.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of loading, unloading, and prolonged periods of driving.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Pay: £26,936.00-£27,846.00 per year
