This is a perfect role for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting before pursuing a career in teaching or educational support.
About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll support the class teacher and work directly with students to help them reach their academic and personal development goals. Your role will be varied and dynamic, involving both academic and pastoral responsibilities, as well as general classroom management and supporting of the class teacher.
Key responsibilities:
- Support teachers with lesson delivery, classroom activities and classroom management
- Provide one-to-one, small group and general classroom support for students
- Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs or any additional learning challenges
- Help monitor and record student progress, as well as liaise with education professionals regarding learners needs and development.
- Contribute to school life, including extracurricular events and activities, and become integrated within the school community.
What were looking for:
- A recent graduate from any subject or background
- Experience working with children or young people, or a similar setting with transferable skills
- Strong communication, written and teamwork skills
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine interest in education and working with children
- Willingness to learn and grow within a school setting, and have an impact on children's progression and development
