Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Children's Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting the well-being and development of young people. Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care tailored to individual child care plans, ensuring their emotional, social, and physical needs are met.
- Support children with daily routines, including personal hygiene, meal times, and recreational activities.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, encouraging children’s confidence and independence.
- Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies.
- Drive children safely to educational appointments, activities, or outings as required.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, behaviour observations, and progress notes in compliance with organisational standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support for each child’s development.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to continually enhance skills and knowledge related to childcare and support work.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or support environment.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive children safely as part of daily responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and care planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation efficiently.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience when working in challenging situations.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities whilst maintaining high standards of care. Pay: Up to £15.71 per hour
