Job Overview
Archway Travel LTD and Archway Haulage LTD are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our repair and team based at our depot in Fleetwood. We have grown the business massively over the last few years and as a result the day shifts that we currently operate no longer suit the needs of the business and we need someone to work a little later into the night to ensure that vehicles returning from service are kept in top condition.
Duties
- Conduct Inspections on both our fleet of HGV and PSV vehicles in accordance with the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness
- Perform repairs to a high standard and ensure a 100% first time fix standard.
- Be able to work independently and be as efficient as possible whilst identify jobs that need doing.
- Be able to attend breakdowns in the evening and be suitable to work roadside when required with our mobile service vehicle.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using welding, soldering, and assembly skills to meet specific repair requirements.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake replacements, tyre fitting, and fluid checks to prevent issues when buses return to service in the morning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an HGV or PSV mechanic with a strong background in electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
- NVQ or Real Work Industry Experience
- Knowledge of electrical experience related to vehicle wiring harnesses and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot using technical manuals and schematics efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and support operational needs.
