Job description:
Bradwell Hall Nursing Home and Woodview Care Home are recruiting experienced Senior Care Assistants to join our teams in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. We have vacancies on both day and night shifts, supporting residents within our large Nursing Homes.
Hours & Shifts
- Full-time permanent positions
- Shifts: 08:00–20:00
- Work pattern: 3 shifts per week based on contracted hours over a 7-day rota
- Weekend working on a rotational basis
- Flexibility is essential
Pay Rate
- £14.44 per hour (Senior Care Assistant with Ofqual NVQ / QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care)
Eligibility
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- Must live within a commutable distance to Bradwell Hall Nursing Home or Woodview Care Home
- Minimum 12 months’ experience as a Senior Care Assistant in a Care or Nursing Home setting

Role Overview
As a hands-on Senior Care Assistant, you will deliver high-quality personal care and support under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will also help mentor new care assistants and promote best practices within the care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting
- Support residents with mobility needs, including using hoists
- Assist with nutrition, hydration, communication, and social engagement
- Prepare residents for treatments as directed by nursing staff
- Complete required documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Follow all policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Mentor new care assistants to ensure they meet role expectations
- Attend all required training sessions
- Report any concerns or changes in residents’ conditions to the nurse in charge
