Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated <PERSON>/Shopfitter to join our team. This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and installation of bespoke fixtures and fittings across various construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, joinery, and construction-related trades, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Duties
- Fabricate customised components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Assemble structures and fixtures according to technical drawings and specifications
- Install fittings, cabinetry, and fixtures on-site with precision and care
- Perform carpentry, joinery, roofing, plumbing, masonry, and electrical tasks as required
- Conduct construction painting and finishing work to ensure a professional appearance
- Handle heavy lifting safely during material transportation and installation processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to health and safety standards
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines
- Assist in site preparation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials accurately
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery within a construction environment
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, and levels
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and sanders
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, plumbing systems, masonry work, and electrical installations is advantageous
- Experience with construction painting and finishing is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely over extended periods
- Prior exposure to site safety protocols and working at heights is preferred
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or related trades are beneficial but not mandatory
