Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, to join our general haulage team on full load and multi drop UK deliveries. The role would require 2-3 nights away each week working Monday - Friday. The job is salary with paid weekly expenses. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking to utilize their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Minimum 2 years experience required for insurance purposes.
Duties
- Operate trucks and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Safely load, secure, and unload goods, ensuring the integrity of cargo during transit
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Follow company policies on driving hours, tachograph regulations, and health & safety procedures
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, ensuring proper handling of goods
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain sided vehicles or similar large trucks
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and legal requirements for HGV drivers
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence (Cat C+E)
- Delivery driver experience in full load and multi drop highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to load safely and securely during loading/unloading processes
- Good organisational skills to plan routes efficiently and manage schedules effectively
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service
Pay: £750.00 per week
