Hixtra provides soils, aggregate and concrete testing services to the construction and geotechnical industries. As a result of our continuous growth this new and exciting role is on offer for the right candidate who would be based at our Milton Keynes laboratory.
We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is fully conversant and confident with:-
- Leading a small team to test and report on soils, aggregate and concrete tests to British Standards. You must have detailed knowledge of regular testing in soils such as densities, compactions, gradings, PI, plate bearings, LWD and CBR. For concrete testing we would expect detailed knowledge of concrete sampling, slump, cube and core compression and for aggregates sampling plus routine testing. Your experience and knowledge would ideally have been built up in a UKAS accredited central or site laboratory in the UK.
- Managing the day-to-day testing plan for the laboratory to ensure all testing is carried out safely, on time and in a fully compliant manner
- To conduct testing both in the laboratory and on-site.
- A working knowledge of UKAS requirements.
- To assist in training, mentoring and authorisation of team members
Just as important as the skills above we are looking for someone with demonstrable team leading skills, a client focussed approach and a built-in desire to make a positive contribution to the company’s growth.
Some travel throughout England and Wales will be required so you must be able to accommodate this and a company van will be provided for these occasions for which you will need a clean driving licence held for at least three years.
