About the Role:
Glasgow continues to be a major centre for construction, commercial development, and specialist building services. At GMC Gypsum Services, we deliver gypsum installation, drylining, plastering, partitioning, and interior fit out solutions for commercial and residential projects.
We are looking for a Construction Project Manager who can plan and deliver multiple site projects while maintaining control over programme, cost, quality, safety, and client expectations.
You will work closely with site managers, quantity surveyors, estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, design teams, and clients to ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agreed specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
Develop detailed project programmes, resource plans, delivery schedules, procurement requirements, and site mobilisation arrangements.
Project Delivery:
Manage construction activities from contract award through completion, ensuring work remains aligned with approved scope, programme, and budget.
Client Management:
Maintain regular communication with clients, main contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
Site Coordination:
Work with site managers and supervisors to organise labour, materials, equipment, access, sequencing, and daily work priorities.
Budget Control:
Monitor labour costs, material expenditure, subcontractor costs, variations, and project forecasts.
Programme Management:
Track progress against the construction schedule and implement recovery actions when delays or resource issues arise.
Subcontractor Management:
Select, brief, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors to ensure performance meets contractual, quality, and safety expectations.
Procurement:
Coordinate the timely ordering of gypsum systems, metal framing, boards, insulation, fixings, tools, and specialist materials.
Quality Control:
Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer guidance, fire performance requirements, and workmanship standards.
Health and Safety:
Promote safe working practices and ensure project activities comply with site rules, risk assessments, method statements, and legal requirements.
Design Coordination:
Review drawings, technical details, specifications, and design changes with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
Change Management:
Assess variations, record additional work, evaluate programme and cost impacts, and secure appropriate approvals.
Progress Reporting:
Prepare project updates covering programme, cost, safety, quality, risks, resources, and outstanding decisions.
Risk Management:
Identify delivery, design, commercial, supply chain, and site risks and implement practical mitigation measures.
Handover:
Coordinate inspections, defect resolution, completion records, operation information, and final handover requirements.
Team Leadership:
Provide clear direction to project teams, site managers, supervisors, and support staff throughout the delivery process.
Continuous Improvement:
Review project outcomes, document lessons learned, and recommend improvements to planning, cost control, procurement, and site coordination.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in construction project management, drylining, interior fit out, specialist subcontracting, or a related building services environment.
Education:
A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
Construction Knowledge:
Strong understanding of project programming, subcontractor coordination, procurement, quality control, health and safety, and commercial delivery.
Specialist Systems Knowledge:
Experience with gypsum board systems, drylining, metal stud partitions, suspended ceilings, plastering, fire protection systems, or interior fit out packages is preferred.
Commercial Awareness:
Ability to monitor budgets, evaluate variations, control costs, and support profitable project delivery.
Leadership Skills:
Ability to coordinate site teams, maintain accountability, resolve conflict, and provide clear direction under pressure.
Contract Knowledge:
Understanding of construction contracts, specifications, variations, payment applications, and project documentation is preferred.
Tools:
Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Procore, Aconex, AutoCAD, or similar construction management and reporting platforms is preferred.
Communication Skills:
Strong spoken and written English is required, together with the confidence to communicate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.
Organisation:
Ability to manage several projects, competing deadlines, changing site conditions, detailed records, and multiple stakeholders.

Pay: £4,200.00-£5,000.00 per month
